Dr. Amalia Mondríguez is from Puerto Rico. She received a BA and an MA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico. She holds an MA and a PhD from Harvard University in Spanish and Latin American Literatures. She is a professor of Spanish language, literature, and culture at The University of the Incarnate Word. She also teaches Spanish at the Feik School of Pharmacy and at the Rosenberg School of Optometry. She wrote the textbooks Spanish for Pharmacists, and Spanish for Optometrists. For her contributions as an educator, she was Included in the book Great Lives in History: Latinos.
