Advising

Guidance and Resources for the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

Students in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) find the support they need to develop academically, spiritually and professionally. CHASS faculty serve as academic advisors to students pursuing undergraduate degrees within their programs. Through one-on-one guidance, faculty advisors steer students to successfully navigate their degree plans and offer professional mentorship. Some programs allow faculty to offer research, travel or additional learning opportunities for their advisees.

Select programs, such as Pre-Law, require that students are assigned to a single advisor who oversees and supports their unique needs.

Faculty Advisors

Once a student declares an academic major through CHASS, they are assigned a faculty advisor within their department or field of study. All full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members serve as advisors with assigned advisees. In CHASS, this includes most faculty members.
