Dr. Lisa Lockhart has been at UIW since 2004 after holding an Assistant Professor position at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and a Visiting Instructor position at Radford University in Radford, Virginia. She received her Master's and Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with a focus in Social Psychology from Kent State University. Before that she attended John Carroll University in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, an institution with a mission very similar to UIW's. Her research interests include social cognition, or how we think about others and ourselves. Specifically, she is interested in cognitive biases and errors in thought, and how morality intersects with this. She is also a strong advocate of service-learning. and has been assessing students' perceptions of and benefits from service-learning while at UIW.
