Application Process
ArmyIgnitED students apply through Armyignited.com. Soldiers must assign University of the Incarnate Word as the home institution and elect a degree program. Once the admissions team receives the application, the soldier will receive an email request to grant UIW permission to pull the Joint Services Transcript (JST). Upon receiving permission, UIW will pull and review the JST for the soldier. Soldiers can be admitted with only a JST but are responsible for submitting all higher education transcripts by the end of his/her first semester.
An acceptance letter will be emailed to the email on the GoArmyEd application with recommendations for initial classes based on the degree program, JST coursework completed, and any submitted transcripts. A welcome message is sent to the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) email with information including the student’s university identification number, email, and class preparation.
A degree plan will be created by the academic advisor and emailed to the soldier. A course planner must be created by the soldier in GoArmyEd’s portal. Registration for classes is done in the GoArmyEd portal prior to the first start day of the term in accordance with the GoArmyEd policies.
