Scholarship Resources
The University of the Incarnate Word is committed to providing educational opportunities to students from all backgrounds, regardless of financial means. We encourage our students to seek additional scholarships to finance their education through community organizations and foundations or accessing the opportunities listed below. - 2020-2021 Fifth-Year Accounting Student Scholarship
Open to students with no more than 30 hours of course work remaining to meet the education requirements to take the CPA exam. Must be a Texas resident and demonstrate financial need determined by the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Applications must be submitted to Dr. April Poe, UIW H-E-B School of Business and Administration Accounting Coordinator, for certification. - 2021-2022 Pat and Dorothy (Lehr) Legan Scholarship
Open to undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need determined by the 2021-2022 FAFSA.
Deadline: May 21, 2021 - 2021-2022 Wheeler Foundation Scholarship
Open to undergraduate students with a permanent address in Atascosa or McMullen county. Must be enrolled full-time with a 3.0+ GPA and demonstrate financial need determined by the 2021-2022 FAFSA.
Deadline: May 28, 2021 - 2021-2022 UIW Sibling Discount Application
The UIW Sibling Discount Application is offered to siblings who are simultaneously enrolled as full-time, main-campus undergraduate students.
Deadline: August 23, 2021 to be considered for Fall 2021/Spring 2022 and January 10, 2022 to be considered for Spring only. - 2021-2022 Independent Insurance Agents Foundation of San Antonio (IIAFSA) Scholarship
Open to students planning to enter the field of Insurance and Risk Management with the intent to remain and work in the Texas area.
Deadline: August 27, 2021 - Cardinal Chemistry Scholars (C2S) Program
Open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Must be a Chemistry or Biochemistry major, currently enrolled at UIW or applied for full-time admission with a minimum 2.8 GPA. - San Antonio Mathematics Scholars (SAMS)
Open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Must be a Mathematics or Statistics major, currently enrolled at UIW or applied for full-time admission with a minimum 2.8 GPA. - Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship
Open to Pell-eligible students whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer. Students must have also been less than 24 years of age or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of his or her parent’s or guardian’s death.
Merit Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Admissions for full-time main campus undergraduate students. Find more information on UIW Merit Scholarships.

Students from Latin America or the Caribbean can find a listing of scholarships, grants, fellowships and loans, collected by the Rowe Fund program of the Organization of American States (OAS). For over seventy years, the Rowe Fund has granted interest-free student loans for university studies in the U.S. to supplement other sources of financing.
UIW Endowed Scholarship Application
Through the UIW Endowed Scholarship Program, UIW is able to offer a wide variety of scholarship opportunities to students of high academic and/or artistic ability. These endowments are made possible by the generosity and commitment of UIW's alumni and friends. The Endowed Scholarship application is available each year from January through April. Fashion Management Scholarship: The Jurren Sullivan Center for Fashion Management awards several scholarships in the spring. The scholarships are announced at The Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show. These scholarships generally range from $500 to $1,500. For more information and to see a list of scholarships which have been awarded in the past, visit the Fashion Department Scholarships webpage.
Performing and Fine Arts Scholarships: Students interested in performing and fine arts scholarships should contact the designated department for information on auditions and performance dates.

ROTC Scholarships: Students interested in ROTC scholarships should visit the ROTC website for more information on the program, scholarships and requirements.
Military Discounts: Qualified military students and dependents may be eligible for tuition discounts. For more information, contact the UIW Business Office.
Veterans Education Benefits: The UIW Military and Veteran Center can assist students using educational benefits under the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Educational Assistance Programs in the pursuit of their educational goals. Visit the Military and Veteran Center's website for assistance and to learn about additional veterans resources.
Scholarship Search Engines: Students are encouraged to apply for external scholarships in addition to any UIW awards they receive. There are free search engines that students can use to find more opportunities.
The following UIW programs have been discontinued:
- Incoming Undergraduate Students: McCracken Alumni Referral Scholarship (MARS), UIW Top 5% Scholarship, UIW Direct Admit Scholarship
- Incoming Graduate Students: Tuition discounts for Delta Mu Delta members and undergraduate students accepted to a graduate program

- Returning Students: Upgrade Your Aid Grant
- UIW Students Traveling Abroad: Global Experience Travel (GET) Award
