Incoming Students

UIW welcomes students from over 140 Sister Schools to participate in the UIW Exchange Program. Exchange students from a Sister School may apply to study at UIW for up to two semesters. Exchange students must be nominated by their university prior to submitting their application and supporting documents.

Application and Supporting Documents

This program offers enriching community and campus outreach activities, UIW Global Ambassador Program (buddy program), a one-week New International Student Orientation (NISO) as well as cultural adjustment seminars and personal advising.

In order to maximize the cultural component of the exchange experience, exchange students are required to live on-campus. The UIW campus community emphasizes the education of the whole person in accordance with the University Mission. The Office of Residence Life at the University of the Incarnate Word would like your stay in the campus residence halls to complement your total educational experience. There are a number of campus housing options available.

Exchange students are also required to utilize a UIW meal plan.
