Nominations
Number of Participants
UIW may accept up to two (2) undergraduate students during an academic year or one (1) undergraduate student for an entire academic year (AY). An academic year is defined as the fall and spring semesters.

Application
Please complete the Exchange Program Application and courier the following documents to:

Documents to include:
- Exchange Program Application
- Official university/college-level transcripts from your current and previous
institutions - Official English proficiency test scores (see below)
- Official bank statement indicating at least $10,215 US Dollars for one
semester or $20,430 US Dollars for two semesters. - Copy of passport
has been received. Only applications submitted by the home institution will be
processed.
IMPORTANT: Post-admittance, students will be required to submit health records
for proof of meningitis vaccine directly to Health Services via email.
Health Insurance
Exchange students are required to purchase international health insurance from UIW only. Other insurance will not be accepted.
Proof of Meningitis Vaccine
Texas State law (SB 62) mandates that all entering students under the age of 22 provide a certificate signed by a health care provider or an official immunization record verifying that a student has been vaccinated against bacterial meningitis or has received a booster during the five years preceding admission to the University. Students cannot pre-register for courses without having submitted appropriate medical documentation. Please visit the Health Services website to learn more. Students should email the documentation to healthsvcs@uiwtx.edu with their UIW student ID number, full name and date of birth.
J-1 VISA
Students who are accepted into UIW’s exchange program will receive a Certificate of Eligibility (DS-2019) and information packet with next steps from International Student and Scholar Services. For more information, please contact us at intl@uiwtx.edu.
