UIW offers more than 40 programs in five schools to undergraduate exchange students.

*UIW's Exchange Program does not accept graduate-level students. Exchange students are not permitted to enroll in graduate-level Health Professions (Nuclear Medicine, Community Health, Rehabilitative Science, Vision Science), Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Optometry, or Physical Therapy courses.

*Exchange students wishing to take courses in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, and/or 3D Animation are required to submit a portfolio prior to acceptance (exceptions apply to UIW-Mexico City and UIW-Irapuato students only).

Academic Information

UIW's language of instruction is English

Proof of English proficiency is required for admission and the issuance of the DS-2019 form.

The following English proficiency exam results are accepted:

  • TOEFL iBT – 79 (photocopy accepted)
  • IELTS – 6.5 overall band score (photocopy accepted)
  • TOEIC – 650 (see directions below)
  • CAE (Cambridge Advanced) – C1
  • PTE Academic (Pearson’s) – 53
  • Duolingo English Test - 110 undergraduate (contact Duolingo to have scores sent to UIW)

If providing TOEIC scores, the official scores must be submitted directly by the testing agency (UIW Institutional Code: 6303). Copies will be accepted for all other exam scores.

Third Country Nationals

Any student (regardless of nationality) who completes secondary education or earns a tertiary degree from an accredited institution in Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), New Zealand and the United Kingdom will be exempt from submitting English proficiency scores. Other English-speaking countries will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Fall Semester: Aug. 21, 2023 - Dec. 8, 2023
  • Spring Semester: Jan. 16, 2024 - May 10, 2024
