Women's Health Services

Eligibility:

  • Services for women 18 – 44 years old
  • Must be enrolled in the Health Texas Women Program. Visit HealthyTexasWomen.org to enroll.

Services offered by the Nursing Cardinal Clinic:

  • Clinical breast exams
  • Pregnancy testing and counseling
  • Preconception health screenings (e.g., screening for obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol, smoking and mental health)
  • Sexually transmitted infection services
  • Treatment for the following chronic conditions:
    • Hypertension
    • Diabetes
    • High cholesterol
  • Treatment of postpartum depression
  • Breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services
    • Ordering of radiological procedures (mammograms) for women 40 – 44 years of age with first degree relative with a history of breast cancer
    • Screening of breast cancer
    • Diagnosis of cervical dysplasia
  • Immunizations (Only Tdap, Influenza, and HPV). Other immunizations may be provided under the Adult Safety Net Program.
  • Contraceptive counseling

Mature Women's Services

Services for women from 45 – 64 years old are provided through certain insurances and at low cost for the uninsured. Call for information.

Eligibility:

  • Should be low income and without any health insurance.
  • Be between the ages of 45 – 64.
  • There is no residence requirement.

Services Provided by the Nursing Cardinal Clinic:

  • Clinical breast exams
  • Sexually transmitted infection screening
  • Treatment of depression
  • Breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services
    • Ordering of radiological procedures (screening and diagnostic mammograms)
    • Screening of breast cancer
    • Diagnosis of cervical dysplasia
  • Immunizations (Under the Adult Safety Net Program) – Patient is responsible for the administration fee of $25 per vaccine.
