UIW will once again be participating in this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. March, welcoming students, faculty and community members to join in the day’s activities. Associate vice president of Mission and Ministry and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Arturo Chavez, and the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership and Sustainability (ECCLS) will lead UIW community members seeking to be a part of the day.
Last month, SRS’s Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program officially received a seven-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). This distinguished honor is a demonstration of the program’s exceptional quality, as it has successfully aligned with over 100 ACOTE standards related to curriculum quality, faculty expertise, student outcomes, fieldwork education, capstone education, ongoing program evaluation and more.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM) celebrated veteran and military-connected student doctors at the annual Military Match Day ceremony on the UIWSOM campus. As soon-to-be doctors, many of UIWSOM’s military-affiliated students have applied to medical residencies and other post-graduation programs, awaiting word as to where in the country they will go and what specialties they will practice.
