The TN Visa Workshop (Visas TN - Taller Informativo)
A Hybrid Bilingual Virtual Event | 12-1 p.m.
This workshop is open to all UIW students, faculty and staff on both the US and Mexico campuses.
UIW’s International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) invites special guest speakers from US-Based Myers Immigration Law, including Managing Attorney Matthew Myers and Legal Analyst and Mexican Attorney Cecilia Carrera, to explore immigration options created by the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA, formerly NAFTA) for Canadian and Mexican citizens. This workshop has two parts, one presented in English and the other presented in Spanish.
UIW ISSS tendrá como invitados especiales al Socio Fundador, Matthew Myers y a la Analista Jurídica y Abogada Mexicana, Cecilia Carrera del despacho Myers Immigration Law, quienes expondrán las diversas opciones migratorias que pueden obtener los ciudadanos mexicanos y canadienses de conformidad con el Tratado entre los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, Los Estados Unidos de América y Canadá (T-MEC, anteriormente conocido como TLCAN). The Theology of Voting: A Call to Latino(a) Voters
Virtual Event | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Mission & Ministry’s Office of DEI will partner with NETWORK, a lobby for Catholic social justice, to present an online workshop that focuses on the connection between our Catholic faith and the sacred right and responsibility to vote. Pope Francis, the first Latino Pope, has provided explicit instruction on the many ways we are called to defend, promote, and protect the sacredness of life. Latino(a) voters will be a major force in the outcome of the 2024 elections.
What are the important issues for Hispanics and what does faith have to say about voting? This workshop will help voting-aged Latina(o)s and all interested individuals connect to the deep history of Catholic Social Justice Teaching and equip them to build a just society for all through their voice and their vote. UIW 2024 System-Wide Symposium: Exploring and Celebrating our Hispanic Heritage through Education, Service, Research, and Artistic Expression
Join us for a vibrant three-day symposium exploring the richness of Hispanic heritage! This event is open to all students, faculty and staff in San Antonio, Irapuato and Mexico City.
Each day will offer two sessions for presentations:
- Session 1 | 12-1:15 p.m.
- Session 2 | 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Explore, Learn, Celebrate
- Engage with speakers who will ignite discussions on Hispanic heritage through education, research, community service or artistic expression.
- Gain new perspectives and celebrate the enduring impact of Hispanic culture.
- Attend all sessions or pick and choose the ones that interest you the most.
