October 6, 2025 – The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to announce that students participating in the Communication Arts Department UIWtv program garnered an impressive 14 Lone Star EMMY Student Production Awards nominations. That number by far exceeds every university in the state this year.
Last year, UIW announced the Dreeben School of Education’s recognition as a Charles Butt Foundation partner program. This year, the second cohort of Charles Butt Scholars is comprised of eight students, including three returning students and five new scholars.
On Thursday, Oct. 2, the University of the Incarnate Word will have the honor of hosting Iván Duque Márquez, the 34th President of Colombia, on the Broadway campus. Duque Márquez will be welcomed as the 2025 honored guest as part of the “Leaders of the Americas Speaker Series,” hosted by the Liza and Jack Lewis Center of the Americas.
