About the Event
The Lewis Center of the Americas, in collaboration with the Ettling Center and the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, is pleased to announce our forthcoming UIW system-wide symposium, scheduled for October 7th, 8th, and 10th, as part of UIW’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. The symposium will shed light on UIW courses, research, community service, or campus life events that have helped our UIW community, and particularly our students, to explore and celebrate our Hispanic heritage. We will also actively explore and celebrate our Hispanic heritage during the symposium itself.
For more information, contact Dr. Rafael Hoyle, at hoyle@uiwtx.edu
All presentations will be live-streamed across all campuses. There will also be designated physical locations in San Antonio, Mexico City, and Irapuato, where participants can go to hear sessions in a live group setting. The designated location in San Antonio will be the Mabee Library Auditorium. Furthermore, as a special highlight of the symposium, we will deliver a TEDx Talk, coordinated by the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, and broadcast to a much wider international audience.
Between October 7th, 8th, and tenth sessions, you can immerse yourself in our engaging tabling experiences in the library atrium. These interactive displays will offer additional opportunities to connect, discover, and be inspired by the vibrant Hispanic culture.
