Graduates Earned More than $40 Million in Scholarships and Grants

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to have played host to the 2025 graduation celebrations of both St. Anthony Catholic High School (SACHS) and Incarnate Word High School (IWHS) in separate ceremonies on May 24, 2025. Thousands of family members, friends, faculty and staff gathered at the Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center on the UIW Broadway campus for the momentous occasion. Both SACHS and IWHS are part of the UIW Brainpower Connection, a collaboration of five schools within the Archdiocese of San Antonio that establishes pathways from pre-k to college.

The day began by celebrating the most recent graduating class of Yellow Jackets from SACHS, with 76 graduates in total. Collectively, the 2025 seniors earned over $20 million in scholarship and grant funds that will support them as they pursue their academic goals. Additionally, a vast majority of the graduating class have committed themselves to four-year institutions across the country in states including New York, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and, of course, Texas where 15 SACHS graduates plan to attend the University of the Incarnate Word.

“I am proud of each and every one of our graduates and am confident that they are going out into the world as men and women of faith and service,” shared SACHS Principal Patricia Ramirez. “As the newest alumni, they will continue to have the love and support of the Yellow Jacket community as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives.”

Later that day, IWHS celebrated its 81 graduating Shamrocks that made up their Class of 2025. This year’s seniors also earned more than $20 million in merit-based scholarships from colleges and universities across 33 states. IWHS proudly shared that 98% of its graduates have committed themselves to four-year institutions, including 5 who will attend UIW.

“Eighty-one remarkable young women stand at the threshold of a new chapter, carrying the values and vision of Incarnate Word High School,” said IWHS Principal Dr. Sylvia Reyna. “Their journey here has been one of growth, resilience and unwavering faith. As they step forward, they do so as graduates and as courageous leaders destined to inspire and transform the world around them. Congratulations, Class of 2025; go forth and set the world on fire with the brilliance of your faith, the power of your voice and the strength of your light.”

Congratulations to this year’s graduates, and may they continue to lead as exemplary individuals rooted in faith.
