UIW Celebrates Honorees at 18th Annual South Texas Nurse Imagemaker Awards

The UIW Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions (SNHP) proudly celebrated the achievements of four exceptional Nursing faculty honored at the 18th Annual South Texas Nurse Imagemaker Awards on Friday, May 23. This event recognized Texas nurses who went above and beyond in their roles - those who inspire others and truly represent the heart of the nursing profession.
This year, Undergraduate Nursing Chair Dr. Kathleen Tilton and Accelerated BSN Director Dr. Yvonne Davila, along with two UIW Orbis Education nursing affiliates, Ms. Leslie Hinson and Ms. Alexis Carter, were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the nursing profession through leadership and teaching excellence.
- Dr. Kathleen Tilton was nominated by the UIW Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions Nursing faculty.
- Dr. Yvonne Davila was nominated by the Sigma Global Nursing Excellence Delta Alpha at Large Chapter and received the prestigious Ruth Stewart Award in the Leadership category.
- Ms. Leslie Hinson was nominated by the Emergency Nurse Association for her excellence in leadership and clinical practice.
- Ms. Alexis Carter was nominated by Orbis Education and was honored in the Academic Teaching category.
These nominations highlighted the respect and admiration each honoree earned from both their colleagues and the broader nursing community. SNHP is incredibly proud of their achievements and for setting an example for future generations of healthcare professionals. Their hard work, compassion and dedication reflect the Mission of UIW and remind us of the powerful role nurses play in caring for our communities.
