UIW Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration
New CFO Brings Wealth of Experience in San Antonio Higher Education
San Antonio– April 30, 2025 – The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lenora C. Chapman as its new Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance and Administration. In her new role at UIW, Chapman will be responsible for the university’s financial operations, and will oversee management of facilities and physical infrastructure, human resources, UIW Police, environmental health, safety and risk management, and vehicle services.
“I extend my sincere thanks to the search committee for their careful and deliberate national search that yielded the ideal person to serve as UIW’s new CFO,” said Thomas M. Evans, PhD, UIW president. “Lenora Chapman is a deeply experienced financial leader in higher education who will bring invaluable expertise in management and collaboration, a desire to build and foster relationships, and a commitment to clear, transparent communication. She is eager to become a part of our university community, and we are eager to welcome her.”

Chapman brings with her deep and broad experience, especially in San Antonio, having served at Trinity University, the Alamo Colleges District and the University of Texas at San Antonio. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Finance and Administration and CFO at Southwestern University, where she streamlined internal workflows, improved procurement processes, and optimized administrative systems, significantly enhancing efficiency and operational effectiveness across the institution.
