Inaugural Cardinal Cèilidh Brings Students, Sisters and University Leaders Together

March 8, 2024
The end of the first week of March came after much anticipation, as students welcomed a much-deserved spring break. But before Cardinals departed to their hometowns and spring break trips, hundreds gathered in the Rosenberg Sky Room for the inaugural Cardinal Céilidh.
A cèilidh is a traditional Irish social gathering. In the true spirit of Ireland, event attendees enjoyed authentic Irish music, food and beverages in the Sky Room, which was transformed to resemble a pub. The event also served as an opportunity for students to experience the Irish heritage and culture of many of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, as they danced and sang side by side. The event was hosted by UIW President Dr. Thomas Evans and Mrs. Lisa Evans, and attended by University leaders and Board of Trustee members, all who spent the evening engaging with students.
Students commented that they particularly enjoyed the traditional music and dancing, but most of all, loved the opportunity to get to know the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word more closely. The smiles on faces and laughter that filled the room were evidence of the wonderful time had by all.
