UIW Volunteers Help to Create Early Holiday Season Magic at Light the Way Volunteer Days
It's the fall semester at UIW, which means that campus preparations for the 37th Light the Way Holiday Festival, presented by H-E-B are in full swing! Beginnning Saturday, Sept. 23, the University hosted its annual Light the Way Volunteer Days at the Broadway campus where students, faculty, staff and alumni gathered to perform the traditional maintenance on the strands of lights that adorn the trees on campus during the Christmas season. For three days, the volunteers replaced broken and faded bulbs with brand new bulbs to ensure that on November 18, 2023, all of the lights shine bright for the San Antonio community to enjoy!
The volunteers were treated to street tacos on Saturday by the alumnus-owned Mr. Meximum food truck, and throughout all of the days, volunteers enjoyed a cornucopia of snacks and refreshments from the festival's title sponsor, H-E-B! Thanks to their efforts UIW's electrical team now have plenty of lights to hang throughout the UIW campus.
