San Antonio – University of the Incarnate Word President Dr. Thomas M. Evans is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Gallegos as the University’s new Vice President for Development and University Relations. Gallegos will assume oversight of the following areas: Development, Alumni and Parent Relations, Corporate, Foundation and Government Grants and Communications and Marketing.

Christopher Gallegos , UIW Vice President

A native of San Antonio, Gallegos is a graduate of Central Catholic High School and St. Mary’s University where he earned a degree in marketing, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems. Gallegos has more than 18 years of university development and alumni relations experience in Catholic higher education. These include 10 years at his alma mater, St. Mary’s, where he served as the assistant director of alumni relations and as a development officer in the Bill Greehey School of Business.

Since 2009, he has served as the director of leadership giving at St. Edward’s University in Austin. While at St. Edward’s, Gallegos was a key member of the leadership team that recently completed a $100 million Comprehensive Campaign. During that time, he oversaw the university’s National Campaign Committee and Regional Campaigns, in addition to his own work with leadership donors.

“I am looking forward to working closely with Dr. Evans and the UIW community to fulfill his strategic goals of growing the University’s endowment to ensure that high-ability, low income students will have the resources to attend college, persist and graduate,” Gallegos said. “By identifying new philanthropic opportunities, we will create access for students to earn a Catholic, liberal education that will help them secure a career to benefit themselves and their communities.”
