UIW Reaches New Heights

San Antonio – The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) celebrated reaching the highest point of construction on its new state-of-the-art Student Engagement Center with a beam signing. UIW students, faculty and staff were invited to leave their mark by signing a beam which was then raised and placed at the highest point of the construction site.

The 135,000 square foot Engagement Center will include the university’s main dining facility, a video gaming room, the UIW post office, the Bookstore, a student organization complex, 10 meeting rooms, an 800 seat ballroom, student lounges and a 300 seat patio. The design was a collaborative effort of students, student government officers, campus activities board officers and a senior capstone project contributed to the buildings design.

Anticipated completion of the Student Engagement Center is Summer 2017.
