Patricia Ramirez Brings Wealth of Knowledge in Catholic Education to Program

Patricia RamirezSan Antonio – The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) is proud to welcome Patricia Ramirez as the new Director of Brainpower Connection Programs. Ramirez brings more than two decades of Catholic school experience after spending 25 years at St. Anthony Catholic School where she rose from teacher to principal at the historic elementary school.

“UIW is extremely fortunate to have Ms. Ramirez leading our Brainpower Connection Programs,” says Dr. Brandy Finck, associate vice president of Enrollment Management and Student Experience. “She brings a wealth of extensive Catholic education experience in working with students and their families. We look forward to her further realizing our shared vision of faith and learning that connects our pre-K to college.”

Ramirez says she is looking forward to raising the visibility of the Brainpower Connection as a unique pre-K to higher education partnership and introducing additional collaborative programs between the member schools.

“Interacting with students, families and peers within a faith-based environment is the most rewarding part of working in Catholic education,” says Ramirez. “This is a ministry, not just a job. As an administrator, bringing collaborative experiences to our Brainpower schools is all about being in community as an act of faith and fulfilling the Church’s mission of providing an excellent education rooted in Gospel values.”

Ramirez has served on various educational committees to further the mission of Catholic education, including the Principal’s Advisory Council with the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Established in 1989, the Brainpower Connection is an association of Catholic schools who collaborate to promote the mission and ministry of the Catholic education. Each school incorporates cooperative learning at lower grade levels, as well as access to accelerated programs from one level to the next. Students can benefit from curriculum alignment, integrated resources, Brainpower scholarships, reduced tuition and access to UIW’s state-of-the-art facilities. Current members of the association include the University of the Incarnate Word, Incarnate Word High School, St. Anthony Catholic High School, St. Peter Prince of the Apostles School, St. Anthony Catholic School, Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and St. Mary Magdalen School.
