BBA Finance Concentration
BBA Finance Concentration
The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance at the H-E-B School of Business and Administration develops global and social leaders who can direct companies and institutions to new paths of financial and economic growth that impact the whole community.
Why Finance?
The BBA in Finance degree at UIW introduces students to the science of fund management in its three different areas: business, personal and public. This program offers professional and in-depth knowledge of key financial concepts, such as risk and return, time value of money, capital budgeting, asset valuation and personal financial planning.
Students choose the finance concentration in the BBA major because it prepares them to enter their communities with the skills to be successful in management positions, not only in the banking and financial service industry, but also in business firms or government organizations.
Finance Curriculum
The BBA in Finance is a 120-hour program and offers two paths of specialization – Banking and Financial Planning, each of which prepare students for careers in the most significant areas in finance.

Student Managed Fund
The UIW Student Managed Fund provides students an opportunity to put into practice the financial management skills learned in the classroom before they graduate. Students managers develop an investment philosophy and procedures to select, allocate, monitor and evaluate a real portfolio.
The student managers who operate the fund are enrolled in an upper-level course under the direction of a faculty adviser. Selection to the program is highly competitive as students must meet several criteria to apply.
