Cardinal Career Readiness

Placing students on the path to success

The Cardinal Career Readiness Program builds a foundation for professional success and ensures HEBSBA graduates are ready to enter the competitive business workforce.

About the Program

The program builds on HEBSBA students’ business education and focuses on helping students develop the career and workplace skills needed to turn them into an organizational and team asset.

Through such activities as resume workshops, career fairs and organization meetings, students strengthen their skills, network and gain introduction to the business community. It also provides a clear plan for students to follow over the course of their four years in the undergraduate program.

Participation in the program is required for all business students admitted in the Fall 2019 and onward.

How it Works

The program uses a point-based system, requiring students to accumulate a minimum of 50 points before graduation, with year-to-year milestone requirements along the way.

Students earn points by completing approved activities. For example, joining a student-led organization within the business school is worth 1 point, while attending a resume workshop is worth 2 points. Progress is tracked through UIW Engage, the UIW student engagement portal.

  • Graduate career-ready Cardinas who will be an asset to any employer.
  • Provide opportunities for career development and foster professional growth in business students.
  • Instill Cardinals with the confidence needed for any professional environment.
