Jose Asuncion is a filmmaker and lecturer in Film Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word. He received an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California. As a Director of Photography on August at Akiko's, he contributed to a film that The New Yorker named one of the best films of 2019. At UIW, he teaches Film History and Film Editing, encouraging students to approach filmmaking with intention and to understand the impact of even the smallest creative decisions.
