Each semester, students at the H-E-B School of Business and Administration join together in teams for an all-encompassing Capstone project in which they are paired with real-world clients to complete a task. The summer session is no different as students nearing the completion of their degrees use the skills they have learned throughout their time at the University of the Incarnate Word to complete the task at hand.

The summer 2016 undergraduate Capstone students worked with the following companies and nonprofits in the San Antonio area.

The graduate Capstone students worked with the following companies and nonprofits:

  • Hyperloop One – Students developed a plan for an international route for this technology startup transportation company.
  • Texas Health & Science University – Students worked with the acupuncture school on the UIW PT campus to help recruit students.

Students reflect on their Capstone project experience in a peer review process.

“This group experience has been like no other, because never before have we simulated working in a real-world environment like we did in this class,” one student wrote. “Working with a real, live client and hearing the first hand problems that occur within the internal organization has made me realize what it’s like out there and that you must deliver the value to your client no matter what the situation is.”
