Dr. Forrest Aven steps down as dean to teach full-time
SAN ANTONIO – Dr. Jeannie Scott, associate dean of the H-E-B School of Business and Administration, has been appointed to serve as interim dean of the school by Provost Dr. Barbara Aranda-Naranjo.
Dr. Scott will begin serving as interim dean June 1, 2020, when current HEBSBA dean Dr. Forrest Aven will step down to spend more time in the classroom as a full-time faculty member.
Dr. Scott has been with the H-E-B School of Business and Administration since 2003. During that time, she has served as the MBA director (2006-2011), the assistant dean (2009-2012), the interim dean (2012-2013) and the associate dean (2013-present). She also teaches HEBSBA Capstone courses full-time and is the school’s internship director.
Dr. Aven, who has been the dean since 2013, will remain with school and teach full-time in the management department. He is looking forward to spending more time in the classroom and working with students.
The University will conduct a nation-wide search for a dean at a later time. The search is postponed due to COVID-19.
