Pre-Engineering Program
Engineering is one of the most in-demand professions in government and industry, with some of the highest paying entry-level jobs in the marketplace today. The mission of the Engineering Department at UIW is to provide talented students with the basics of an undergraduate engineering education in the context of the University's integrated program of liberal arts and professional studies.
This two-year plan of study would have the student lay a foundation of math, science and computer courses which could then
- be transferred to a school that offers a four-year bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering,
- be used as part of a degree plan at this University in an area such as mathematics, computer science, environmental science, or nutrition science,
- be the basis for the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree offered at Incarnate Word.
The typical roster of courses for the Pre-Engineering track includes.
- MATH 2312 Calculus 1
- MATH 2313 Calculus 2
- MATH 2314 Differential Equations
