At the School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (SMSE), you will find a community of fellow scientists, statisticians, engineers, chemists, researchers, broadcasters and working professionals actively involved in our student clubs and organizations. These select student groups offer you the opportunity to get involved, meet new friends and future colleagues, network with your peers, have fun and develop leadership skills that prepare you for your future career. Biology Club

The biology club is a student organization that focuses on giving students information on many different careers in the biology field as well as provide its members with community service events, the ability to meet new friends, and become more active with the University of the Incarnate Word.

This club is affiliated withe the national organizations of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB).

Crypto Cardinals

This student organizations focused on cyber security brings together future security professionals to network and learn more about some of the most pressing issues in the profession. Together, members share their cybersecurity insights, from lock-picking to utilizing Raspberry Pi devices, to navigating the “dark web.”

Environmental Science Society

The newly formed Environmental Science Society invites all environmental science majors and anyone else interested in environmental science to join. The purpose of the society is to bring together all who are interested in environmental science, personally or professionally, to create a community that supports each other, conducts outreach to the community, and prepares students for their careers.

This student organization with a focus on math provides members an opportunity to participate in community service projects, and monthly meetups to focus on subjects within the math field.

Pre-Med Society

The Pre-Medicine Society is an organization where students can come together to share their interest in the medicine and healthcare fields. The Health Professions Society also encourages the progression of our members by giving them opportunities to educate themselves on their personal field of interest and to network with local healthcare facilities.

Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association at UIW Chapter

Pre-SOMA is the undergraduate division of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), a national organization of students pursing a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree. Pre-SOMA is a way for pre-medical students to become a part of this community before getting into medical school.
