Certification Officer Administration Office Location: GB 145 Phone: 210-829-3132 Email: sabo@uiwtx.eduConstance Sabo-Risley is the Certification Officer and Assessment Coordinator for students seeking initial certification through the DSE. A 1983 graduate of Incarnate Word College, she earned her MA in English literature at UTSA and also holds Texas lifetime teacher certification. Since joining the DSE administrative staff in 2004, she has been active in state certification organizations including the Texas Association of Certification Officers, serving for two years as president and currently as treasurer. She is also a member of the Texas Coordinators for Teacher Certification Testing. Recent publications include Play in American Life (2017), which she co-edited with Dr. Mary Ruth Moore. Students with questions about teacher certification and preparation for state certification exams are welcome to visit her office. When not at UIW, Constance spends her time as the dedicated servant of three elderly dogs.
