UIW Graduate students experience flexible and interactive learning opportunities with a low faculty-to-graduate-student ratio in the setting of a private liberal arts university. The UIW community strives to provide students an accessible and engaging learning environment allowing students to expand their professional horizon, while piquing their intellectual curiosities. The mission of the School of Graduate Studies and Research is "To nurture and preserve academic excellence."

Fall 2014 New Graduate Student and Family Orientation
Fall 2014 orientation for new students and family provides them both with a sense of belonging to the UIW community. The orientation has three tracks: the student track, the family track, and the Little Cardinal’s track. The student track will cover information on support services and important academic policies. The family track is designed to illustrate the positive ways that family/friends can support their graduate student throughout the Master’s program. The Little Cardinal’s track features arts and crafts that tie into the overall theme of orientation. The orientation is Saturday, August 16, 8:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. in the Marian Hall Ballroom. For more information, please contact the UIW Graduate Support Center at (210) 832-5628 or email@example.com.
Graduate Admission Procedure:
When the Office of Admissions receives the required credentials, they are then submitted to the program director for evaluation and recommendation for a decision. The Dean of Graduate Studies and Research will notify the applicant via mail regarding the action taken upon the application. Upon acceptance, the student is assigned to a program advisor.
Credentials submitted for admission become the sole property of the University of the Incarnate Word and will not be returned under any circumstances. Students who have not begun graduate studies within a year of acceptance must re-apply through the Office of Admissions for the reactivation of their application and readmission.
The University of the Incarnate Word reserves the right to refuse admission to an applicant or to request the withdrawal of a student enrolled in a program for purposes deemed adequate by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research.
