KUIW Internet Radio

The KUIW webcast originates from the Communication Arts Department of the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. The internet radio station is run by students enrolled in Radio Practicum and by volunteers from UIW.

All aspects of the radio business are addressed in the course, including management, engineering, advertising, promotions, production, on-air talent and web design. KUIW has received initial funding via a grant; however, KUIW must support itself 100% before the end of five years. We are actively seeking advertisers.

KUIW is dedicated to web casting programs that promote the UIW mission as outlined in UIW's Mission statement. We are an open-format music station that not only broadcasts to the UIW and San Antonio community, but also to our sister schools that are located all over the world. Listeners can tune in Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to midnight.

KUIW offers mobile DJ services, which means your next club celebration or special event can have a rockin’ KUIW DJ supplying the music. KUIW now brings our entire music library to every event to make sure we have just the songs you want to hear.

Steps to Hire a DJ

  1. Download and print our DJ Contract (pdf)
  2. Fill out and return the DJ contract and email to Raymond Blanton at rlblanto@uiwtx.edu.
    Please note: If contracts are not returned to the appropriate people directly or before the advanced notice, as listed on the contract, KUIW does not guarantee a DJ to be hired for your event, although we will make our best attempt to fulfill your request.
  3. Follow-ups will be made to confirm times, dates, genres, emcee requests, attire, payments, etc.
