Cardinals For Kids

Cardinals for Kids began in 2013 after planning the first Mini Cardinal Dance Marathon. The success of the dance marathon set the foundation for the launch of Cardinals For Kids. Since the first dance marathon, Cardinals For Kids has hosted many events on campus in order to help kids in our community who have the greatest health needs.

Working together with fellow San Antonio Catholic universities, St. Mary's and Our lady of the Lake, Cardinals For Kids helps raise money and awareness for the Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. The Children's Hospital of San Antonio is San Antonio's only free standing, non-profit hospital.

Winter's Eve Gala - 2016

The third annual Cardinals for Kids Winter's Eve Gala will be held on  Thursday, November 17, 2016. Proceeds from the Gala benefit the Children's Hospital of San Antonio Foundation. The Gala will be held at the University of the Incarnate Word McCombs Center Rosenberg Sky Room. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Sister Walter Maher Humanitarian of the Year Award.  This year the award will be presented to the Honorable Peter Sakai. 

The Honorable Peter Sakai has been involved with the adoption of Children in Bexar County for many years. Through his own experience with the Children’s Court bench he has been able to make an impact on the lives of the children of Bexar County. Judge Sakai is widely recognized in the community as being a leader who works hard to bring new ideas and solutions to help resolve issues of child abuse and neglect and family violence in our city.

San Antonio Dance Marathon

The Cardinal Dance Marathon is hosted by the University of the Incarnate Word's Office of Mission & Ministry. The Cardinal Dance Marathon, is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to serve the families of the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, a member of the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
