Life at SMSE
The School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (MSE) offers degree programs for science-minded students. All programs are designed to challenge students and prepare them for their professional careers or for graduate school. MSE graduates go on to a wide variety of careers, including biology, engineering, medicine, dentistry, teaching and research.
With more than a dozen degree offerings, students can find and pursue the right program that will help them reach their professional goals.
Designed for working professionals, the Master of Science in Nutrition prepares students to help improve health and wellness through nutrition and dietetics.
Students from any program can expand their studies and deepen their understanding of important scientific and mathematical concept offered by SMSE’s minors.

Most of us are used to individuals and families entering the Church and receiving their Sacraments in the parish. It was my junior year in college when I learned this occurs at Catholic colleges as well when my best friend expressed a desire to be Baptized into the Church. For a whole year, as her sponsor, we met with other students with the same desire, and I witnessed her reception into the Church at the Easter Vigil that year.
Attending Mass outdoors at the Lourdes Grotto on campus has been very special to me. I would often visit the Grotto to say a prayer or sit in peace and nature, looking up at Our Lady of Lourdes on the structure. It has been a place of reflection for me during stressful and joyful moments as a student.
Nestled within our Incarnate Word campus is the majestic clock tour that not only marks the passage of time but also resonates with the institution's profound Catholic heritage. As we walk through our campus, a familiar tune chimes each day, “The Hymn to the Incarnate Word.” This hymn tune was adapted from Hosanna #34.
