Scholarships

Students in the School of Media and Design have several options for finding the resources they need to support them throughout their years of study. In addition to general scholarships and opportunities offered through the Office of Financial Aid, students of specific programs may be eligible for additional scholarship funds.

 

Communication Arts Scholarship Opportunities

Students pursuing majors in Communication Arts may be eligible for one of the scholarships offered through UIW.

  • Cameron Redus Endowment Scholarship
  • Student Media Scholarship
  • Jason W. Curnutt Endowed Scholarship in Communication Arts
 

Fashion Management Scholarship Opportunities 

The Juren Sullivan Center for Fashion Management provides several scholarship opportunities for existing Fashion Management students. The list below is an example only. The actual scholarships available and amounts of award change annually.

  • Lila Bath Scholarship (Up to $1,500) - Preference, but not limited, to a Mexican national student
  • Annemarie Walsh Endowed Scholarship (Up to $1,000 each) - Two scholarships, one for a design student and one to a merchandising student
  • Ruth Juren Scholarship (Up to $2,675)
  • Donna Muslin Scholarship and Career Development Program (Up to $1,000) - Visit the scholarship page in Career Services for more information.

Students wishing to be considered for any scholarship in the Fashion program must submit appropriate documentation to the Fashion Management office:

  • Qualifying students must be enrolled as full-time students.
  • Current transcript to be submitted – unofficial is acceptable. Eligible students must have an overall G.P.A. of 3.0 or above.
  • Complete scholarship application
  • Current resume with all contact information.
  • An essay of no less than 350 words and no more than 500 words discussing why the student should be considered for the scholarship. In addition, students should discuss accomplishments, awards and their future career goals.
  • Submit a thank you note (as if you were awarded a scholarship)
