In a history making ceremony, the December 2001 commencement awarded the
first two doctoral degrees in the 121-year history of the University of
the Incarnate Word.
Bonilla Addresses the Spring Graduates
Rep. Henry Bonilla of San Antonio, who has been hailed as one of the country's
most influential lawmakers, was the keynote speaker at the afternoon graduation
ceremony at the University of the Incarnate Word on May 11.

of the Incarnate Word.
at Spring Commencement
Dr. Frances Strodtbeck, presented as the 2002 Alumna of Distinction, was
the keynote speaker at the morning graduation on May 11, which included
the graduates of the School of Business and Applied Arts and Administration
and the School of Nursing and Health Professions. Congressman Henry Bonilla
was the keynote speaker at the afternoon ceremony.

High Praise from
The accolades have come fast and furiously since last fall when the Ann
Barshop Natatorium was dedicated, but no higher praise can be offered
than that which came from an Incarnate Word student-athlete.
Sister Anne Munley joined the Board of Trustees in March 2002. She is
a member of the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate
Heart of Mary in Scranton, PA.
