Fiesta Fashion 2002

A SHOWER OF BALLOONS heralds the end of the 22nd Annual Cutting Edge Fiesta Fashion Show, held on April 22, 2002 in the Alice P. McDermott Convocation Center. The dazzling fashion show was a complete success, as a parade of styles graced center stage. This year's fashion show featured more than 90 pieces of clothing from 11 talented designers. During the show, the fashion students showcased the pieces that they designed and constructed for El Rey Feo's queen - Melissa Barrett - who served as La Reina Bonita for the opening night of Fiesta 2002. Mrs. Barrett graciously agreed to model the pieces and afterwards presented the students with a special medal from El Rey Feo's Court. Alongside the students this year was Jack Alexander, show producer for Saks Fifth Avenue, Oscar De La Renta-New York, and also Oscar De La Renta for Pierre Balmain Haute Couture-Paris.
