WLC Mission Statement:

The WLC guides UIW undergraduate students in improving their writing skills so that they will be prepared to succeed in writing-intensive college courses and in their careers.

What we do:

The WLC will support you at any stage of the writing process. You may drop in during our tutoring hours, and you will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you prefer to know that a tutor will be ready for you at a designated time, or if you have questions about a particular format or about writing for a specific discipline, we recommend that you set an appointment. We recommend setting appointments for busier times, such as midterms and finals.

UIW undergraduate students can make writing appointments by calling us at 210-829-3870, stopping by our office in the Student Engagement Center (room 3167), or emailing us at wlc@uiwtx.edu.

Any student who needs assistance with accessing a Student Success office during regular office hours: please contact Michelle Beasley at 210-829-3997 or Sandy McMakin at 210-805-3005. Any student who is requesting access after office hours or on the weekend should contact Campus Police at 210-829-6030.

 

Spring 2019 Tutoring Hours:

Sun 4:00 PM-8:00 PM

Mon-Tues 9:00 AM-8:00 PM

Wed 9:00 AM-7:00 PM

Thurs 9:00 AM-6:00 PM

Fri 9:00 AM-5:00 PM

*Office opens at 8:00 AM Mon-Fri

*Office will close at 6:00 PM, Mon-Thurs, during the first week of classes.

 

Spring 2019 Closure Dates:

Sun-Mon, Jan 20-21: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Sun-Sun, Mar 10-17: Spring Break

Fri-Mon, Apr 19-22: Easter

*Office will close at 5:00 PM on Thurs, Apr 18
