Concentration in Product Development

Fashion Management with a concentration in Product Development was developed for students desiring careers in fashion production. This program provides the students a background in technical design and management of fashion production. It is a hybrid of skill sets between fashion design and fashion merchandising. The skill sets are centered on the mass market level of fashion rather than on the designer level of fashion. Product development students’ skill set development is focused on computer aided pattern development, line development, and technical package development. Fashion Product Development replicate brand lines that do not feature an individual as the “lead designer.” Example the brand, Juicy Couture, does not feature a person’s name.
