New Services for the UIW Community - UPDATE
The announcement titled “New Services for the UIW Community” in last Monday's The Word Today was sent for publication prematurely and has been retracted.  The policy approved by the Executive Council to begin June 1 follows.

The University Police Department will provide courtesy jump start services on the properties it patrols: lots on the main campus, the high schools, the McCracken House, the Feik School of Pharmacy, the Watson Loft Apartments and the AT&T lots on Groveland and Broadway.  Service to lots further from campus cannot practically be covered by police personnel.  Police staff will not unlock car doors or repair or provide flat tire assistance.  Vehicle owners will be asked to sign a waiver of liability prior to service.

UIW Police encourages ALL employees and students to have roadside assistance through their auto insurance carrier or other third party provider.  The Roadside Assistance program will cover services not offered by UIW Police, such as lockouts or flat tire assistance.
