UIW Sister Symposium Scheduled for Sept. 12

Catholic Sisters Symposium

In celebration of the Year of Consecrated Life, the University of the Incarnate Word is pleased to partner with the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) in presenting Catholic Sisters: Who They Are and Why the World Needs Them.  The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 from 9 a.m. to noon in UIW’s Fine Arts Auditorium, 4301 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209.

The symposium will feature Sr. Mary Johnson, SNDdeN, PhD, Sr. Patricia Wittberg, SC, PhD, and Dr. Mary Gautier, PhD, authors of the highly acclaimed book, New Generations of Catholic Sisters: The Challenge of Diversity.

While the face of the Catholic sisterhood has changed over the generations, their vital legacy and contributions endure, making their lives and service to the Church and world needed more than ever. Come learn why and meet a new generation of young women who have said yes to being called “Sister.”
