Training and Tutorials

Spring tulipsWelcome to Instructional Technology’s training opportunities.

To see our course offerings, click on the month. Face-to-face and online training sessions are available. Registration is easy. Just click the link at the conclusion of the course description. Events are year-round and coincide with the academic calendar.

Each session includes an overview of a specific application along with time for hands-on interaction. Sessions last one hour and are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

There are sessions for full- and part-time faculty as well as administrative and hourly staff. Select the offering that applies to your group.

    Microsoft Office Lens

    Office Lens trims, enhances, and makes pictures of whiteboards readable. Use Office Lens to convert images to PDF, Word or PowerPoint files. Save images to OneNote or OneDrive. Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket.

    Office 365 Planner offers a simple and highly visual way to organize teamwork. Planner makes it easy to create new plans, organize and assign tasks, share files, chat about what you’re working on, and get updates on progress.

    Kaltura Quizzes

    Increase the effectiveness of education and training by including questions and solutions in the video experience. Online video quizzing increases active viewing, enables measurement, provides a new way to improve learning outcomes, and offers a way to make any video more engaging and accountable.

    OneNote is your digital notebook for capturing and organizing everything across your devices. Jot down your ideas, keep track of classroom and meeting notes, save clips from the web, or make a to-do list, as well as draw and sketch your ideas.

    Groups and Forms

    This session will focus on two of Microsoft's newest collaborative applications; Groups and Forms. Build a work group and share documents, folders, or a calendar. Use Forms to create surveys, collaborative activities or engaging student polls.

    Poll Everywhere

    Poll Everywhere transforms one-sided presentations into two-way conversations with the audience. This web-based audience response system lets you embed interactive activities directly into your presentation. The audience responds on the web or via SMS texting on their phones. Please bring your personal laptop or mobile device.
