Dr. Marc Piazolo, visiting professor of economics, will present as part of the Brown Bag Research Series on Nov. 26, 2018, in the Mabee Library, Special Collections Room. The 60-minute presentation will begin at noon.
Dr. Piazolo will present on the topic of "Dividing an inheritance successfully - Behavioral economics in international Internet experiments"
By conducting several Internet Ultimatum Bargaining Games on splitting a $1,200 inheritance among three persons, Dr. Piazolo determined behavioral differences in the U.S., Germany and South Africa. Overall, the notions of fairness and inequality aversion seem to dominate decision making.
The Brown Bag Research Presentation Series is designed to promote research and draw attention to the ongoing academic exploration occurring in the H-E-B School of Business. The discussions offer faculty, undergraduate and graduate students, and members of the business community an opportunity to present their work and engage in scholarly dialogue. Brown Bag Research Presentations are offered in the Fall and Spring semesters.
