David McTier is Professor and Chair of the Department of Theatre Arts. Raised on a cattle farm in Georgia, he holds a PhD in theatre history and criticism from the University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to UIW, he taught 13 years at Sam Houston State University, where he was tenured and promoted to full professor. A two-time Fulbright Scholar (Romania in 2016-2017 and Kosovo in 2012), Dr. McTier is an avid traveller and has visited has visited 61 countries.
