Ms. Stephanie Hulsey is a full-time flute instructor in the south Austin to north San Antonio areas. Her teaching career began in 2010 while studying at McNeese State University where she received bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Music Performance. During this time, she discovered a passion for musical theatre and since 2008, has performed in The Sound of Music, Opera Selections of Keith Gates, Louisiana Purchase, Dialogues of the Carmelites, Speed Dating Tonight, Gianni Schicchi and Buoso’s Ghost. Stephanie has performed in numerous ensembles both in and out of the university setting in addition to masterclasses with notable flutists such as Marianne Gedigian, Francesca Arnone, Jim Walker, Daniel Pardo, Leone Buyse, and Patti Adams.

Stephanie also holds a Master of Music in Music Performance from Texas State University. Her main flute teachers include Dr. Judy Hand and Dr. Adah Jones. The professional flute choir that she participated in, Silver Voices, premiered newly commissioned works at the 2014 National Flute Convention in Chicago, Illinois via audition. While at Texas State, she performed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria for the 2015 MusicArtissimo Balabonov’s House Music Days International Festival. She was also invited to perform as principal flute for the Starlight Symphony Orchestra in Kyle, TX during the 2015 concert season.

Stephanie believes in fostering well-rounded musicians who are capable of achieving their goals both in and outside of the music world through purposeful practice, committed performances and thorough research.

Stephanie currently resides in New Braunfels with her two dogs, Chestnut and Daisy, and enjoys cooking, baking and traveling. She looks forward to achieving her future musical goals.
