Why Giving Matters
The University of the Incarnate Word’s excellence in higher education depends greatly on the generosity of alumni, parents and friends. From annual gifts that make an immediate impact to endowed gifts that last for generations, contributions to UIW serve as a catalyst for positive change. Every gift we receive helps UIW enroll the most promising students, ensures the quality of our programs and facilities, affects UIW’s national ranking, and inspires others to lend their philanthropic support.
Have an Impact
One person can change the world
At the University of the Incarnate Word, we know that one person can change the world, and our goal is to encourage more students to discover how they can make an impact. Students who receive scholarship support are able to focus on their education and take full advantage of the university’s unparalleled learning environment. With more scholarships, we are better able to attract the best and brightest students.
Covering the gap
Even with the competitive tuition rates at the University of the Incarnate Word, more students are finding it difficult to afford a college degree. Over 79 percent of UIW's students receive needs-based grants, scholarships and aid, but still have a gap to cover the full cost of attendance. For students whose families are unable to provide financial assistance, this means working several jobs or taking out multiple loans. Help ensure that hardworking students can achieve their goals by supporting scholarships at the University of the Incarnate Word.
Together, we will do more for our students and our global community
UIW is committed to educational excellence in a context of faith in Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Word of God. Thus, through a liberal education, the university aims to educate men and women who will become concerned and enlightened citizens within the global community. To that end, faculty and students support each other in the search for and communication of truth, thoughtful innovation, care of the environment, community service, and social justice.
UIW is committed to serving communities in San Antonio, Texas and throughout the world. In order to address growing and complex challenges, we must be able to open our doors to deserving scholars and support them in their committed endeavors to help others and make a difference.
