Remembering All Veterans

UIW held the Veterans Day celebration on campus on Nov. 11. UIW veterans, families and friends of veterans were in attendance to help honor those who have served their nation through military service. Major General Richard D. Smith, former Commander of the San Antonio Air Logistics Center at Kelly Air Force Base was the guest speaker. Following the ceremony, a wreath was placed at 281 and Hildebrand. The wreath will add yet another public symbol of UIW's recognition of the sacrifices made by those in the nation's military.

Parade of Characters

In celebration of National Children's Book Week, the students from St. Anthony Catholic School came dressed as their favorite book character. The children began the celebration with a parade, which began at 8:15 a.m. The children then proceeded to walk across the stage and present their favorite book. National Children's Book Week is celebrated the third week in November.
