MCNAIR SCHOLARS

The McNair Scholars shined earlier this month. Twelve scholars attended the Fifth Annual Texas McNair Research Conference at the University of North Texas in Denton. The event, held Feb. 28-March 2, 2003 offered several scholars to meet with UNT faculty and graduate school recruiters from around the country.

The quality of research, in addition to their professional-level of presenting, makes the UIW McNair Scholars top in their category. Scholars are already being offered scholarships, possible graduate assistantships, and summer research opportunities across the nation.

Incarnate Word Chapel Renovations

Within a few short days, you will begin noticing some repair work occurring to our beloved Chapel of the Incarnate Word.  The presence of termites in the steeple has necessitated that we hire Rubiola Construction Company to provide the necessary restoration.

A crane will be put into place at the back of the chapel, adjacent to the cemetery, and scaffolding will be erected to allow for the contractor's ease and safety of movement.  All repair work will be conducted outside the facility and we anticipate no impact on events scheduled to occur inside the chapel.

We anticipate the repairs will take several weeks and we appreciate your patience.
