TOP STORIES

Mission Events

A new group--the Mission Retreat Advisory Board -- has been hard at work during the summer, with many exciting community-building plans. The Board, composed of six members who were voted on by previous retreat participants, has been working since May to put together informative events for the employees of the university.

One of the most worked on projects this summer includes “Share the Word,” a brown bag series that will bring guest speakers to campus between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. one Tuesday every month. The first session of “Share the Word” will feature Father Eddie Bernal, host of CTSA’s “Gospel Feedback,” and will be held in Dubuis Lounge on August 19.

Retreat surveys revealed that many employees miss the sense of community because they do not know each other and are not familiar with the functions of other offices. In an effort to address the issue, the second project being coordinated is the “Meet and Greet” series. This will serve as a vehicle through which we can meet employees in various offices, find out where they are located and learn about their services. The first “Meet and Greet” is scheduled from 2-2:45 p.m. on Friday, August 29 and will feature the employees housed in the newly-renovated Chapel Building.

The Retreat Advisory Board includes (pictured above, top row) Sr. Audrey O’Mahony, Adriana Garcia, Lorraine Ewers, Brenda Dimas, (bottom row) Itza Casanova, Martha Gutierrez and Crystal Brennan.
