Matthew Grief and familyMatthew Grief, Director of Residence Life, left UIW after 6 years to pursue a new opportunity. During his tenure, at UIW, Matt provided excellent leadership for the residence life program. He and his dedicated staff earned numerous accolades from the students and his colleagues for providing a good program for the university.

The Incarnate Word community along with the Campus Life staff give their best wishes to Matt in his future endeavors.

100th Harley Davidson Anniversary

In collaboration with the 100th anniversary of Harley Davidson the PR Office is raffling a 2003 Fatboy Motorcycle. Only 500 tickets will be sold. All proceeds go to scholarships to benefit the National Hispanic Fund, The San Antonio Education Partnership Foundation and the Endowed Scholarship Fund. Official drawing will take place at the International Conference Center at 7 p.m. on September 27.

The Center for Spirituality and the Arts is pleased to offer a daytime Yoga class for those who have never taken one and/or those who wish to take a more systematic approach to learning this important exercise and flexibility discipline. Through imagery, sensory awareness and breath, you will work with core physical structures and energy systems to develop a sound foundation for a personal practice. The effect is deeply relaxing and integrating.

Instructor: Dora Ruffner has been practicing yoga for 25 years and teaching for 12. Her eclectic approach is grounded in the philosophical and scientific system of yoga, while it also draws upon her expertise in therapeutic bodywork and movement arts.

FAMOUS FOLKS

Dr. Bonnie McCormick and Dr. Christy MacKinnon of the biology department attended the American Association of Computers in Education ED-Media World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hyermedia and Telecommunications. This conference was held June 24 -29 in Denver, Colorado. Drs. McCormick and MacKinnon led a panel discussion entitled "Interactive Web Page Development for Undergraduate Science Courses: A Discussion of Process and Problems". Dr. McCormick presented a paper that was co-authored by Dr. Cheryl Anderson, Director of Instructional Technology, titled "Transforming Student Technology Use through Faculty Development Grants".
