Calendar of Events:

Saturday, February 15: Valentine's Day Tea: The Center for Spirituality and the Arts invites everyone to this annual event.  Tea from Madhatter’s Tea Room will be served along with cakes, scones and tasty pastries. Love poems & lovely music will also accompany this event from 2-4 p.m. Tickets are $10. For more information and to purchase your tickets, call 829-5980.

Santa Rosa Alumnae Scholarship

Santa Rosa Alumnae Association members, Beatrice Page and Margaret Butler make a scholarship gift to the UIW Nursing Program.

Accepting the gift is Dr. Kathi Light and Dr. Caroline Spana. The Santa Rosa Alumnae Scholarship in Nursing is awarded each year to University of the Incarnate Word seniors who are majoring in nursing, are in the last two semesters of the nursing program and are recommended by her or his dean.

Miss San Antonio 2003 Pageant

University of the Incarnate Word will be hosting the 2003 Miss San Antonio Pageant, scheduled for March 15 & 16 in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

Contestants will be eligible to receive:

a $10,000 scholarship to UIW

A $250 Cash Scholarship

Plus other great prizes

Contestants can participate in three different categories:

Miss San Antonio 2003

Miss San Antonio Teen 2003

Mrs. San Antonio 2003

Farewell and Good luck

Co-workers and friends of Martha Trevino, Assistant for Alumni Relations, stopped to say their good-byes. Martha, who was in charge of the Alumni Phonathon said she would miss her friends at UIW , but takes with her lots of good memories. We wish Martha lots of luck in the future.

Words-Worth Book Club

Are you interested in reading fiction books? The discussion group at UIW invites you to join them for another series of fine books and stimulating discussion. This is a wonderful way to enrich your reading pleasure. If you are interested in joining, we urge you to sign up now. Book selections for the spring session are listed below, together with the names of the presenters who will introduce each novel. The Twig bookstore on Broadway will offer members a 15% discount if you buy the set of six-a good savings!

Meetings will be held from 12-2 p.m. in the International Conference Center, located on the corner of Hildebrand and Hwy 281. You are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and come at 11:30 a.m. to enjoy your salad or sandwich before the presentation starts. Coffee, tea, and cold drinks will be provided.
